Welcome, welcome, to the grand opening of my new website! I am Joshua Lynott and I have been focused on travel, photography and writing for the better part of the last three years.
If you’re one of the lucky ones in the right place at the right time, who have chosen to be apart of the this new venture from the get go, you’re in for a wild time as you tune in with my weekly adventures.
What are you in for?
A website dedicated to adventures and golden hour snippets. You’ll learn about the places I go and hopefully find some inspiration for your own travels.
Each week you’ll find:
- A blog post of what my adventures entailed in the last 7 days
- My top ten photos from the week
- A few thoughts of things that I hope will inspire you.
You’ll be able to purchase any of the images off my blog or instagram, along with the premium prints in my portfolios. Buying my prints both supports my dreams and will make the walls of your house, office, restaurant look that little bit brighter and better.
Let me tell you a little about myself:
I am 22 years old, originally from Adelaide, Australia. Throughout 2015/early 2016 I lived on the island Oahu, Hawaii. Upon returning to Australia, I made the decision that I needed to put myself in a new place to continue broadening my mind through living in new locations and connecting with new people. Alas, I made the move from Adelaide to Sydney. Since being based in Sydney, I have strived to travel as frequently as possible. I’ve ended up in some crazy places; on top of the fjords of Norway, manic highway drives across Albania to adventurous island life in Siargao, Philippines.

Currently, I am not at university, nor do I have a degree. For many, this is seen as an absurd and risky decision yet for me it felt right. I didn’t want to be throwing away my days spending time doing things I wasn’t passionate about. A good friend of mine once said, “Travelling is the university of life” and each day this still sings true. I uphold a proactive mindset to learn as much from every new person I talk to and each new experience I indulge in. These often lead me in all directions and when I commit to a certain path, more often than not it’s just as great as any opportunities presented through universities or learning institutions.
Photography has fallen hand in hand with my travels. A lot of the places I go, I know I am being naive to think that I would witness or ever visit them again. I like to capture these moments for the stories that the photos hold within them and to allow others to see places they may not know even existed. Even when my feet aren’t running up mountain ridges or climbing palms, I’ll be up early to capture sunrise or kicking back see the sunset. Golden hour pastels are my favourite to photograph and you’ll find some of my favourites in the prints section of my website.

This year I’ll be releasing a book with an abundance of quotes that aim to make you think differently and more positively about your day. I want people to be out there doing what they love because I think that is what the world needs most. These quotes will be paired with my photos and you’ll find updates on the release and where you can get your hands on it over the upcoming weeks.
Here’s to embracing the unknown, having a voracious appetite for life, connecting with new people, and capturing moments worth looking at again.
I’d love to hear from you! Buzz me with your questions, ideas to collaborate or favourite place to have breakfast. You can get in touch with me through instagram @joshlynott, my contact page or by directly emailing me at catchme@joshualynott.com
